Rock Out With NEEDTOBREATHE + Johnnyswim

Acclaimed Grammy-nominated and Dove Award-winning indie rock outfit NEEDTOBREATHE will touch down in Knoxville October 5 at Thompson-Boling Arena with touring mates Johnnyswim for what promises to be a night to remember.

The band is touring supporting their seventh studio album, Forever on Your Side, the title track featuring tourmates Johnnyswim.

Lauded for their “uplifting gospel harmonies” and “restless sonic experimentation” on wax (Rolling Stone, 2016), NEEDTOBREATHE has built a rabid grassroots fanbase from its reputation for exultant, revelatory live performances that catapulted the Rineheart Brothers (Bear and Bo) and their college friends Selth Bolt and Josh Lovelace from playing coffeehouses outside Furman University to opening tours for the biggest acts in the world–Taylor Swift, Tim McGraw and Faith Hill and Drew Holcomb and the Neighbors, to name a few.

Along the way, NEEDTOBREATHE has continued to garner accolades, winning multiple DOVE Awards for Rock/Contemporary Song of the Year, Song of the Year and Group of the Year, and a Grammy Nomination for Best Contemporary Christian Music Performance for their 2015 single “Multiplied.”

These days, over a decade into their touring career, NEEDTOBREATHE headline the bill in their own right and rightly so. The band’s single “Brother” featuring Gavin DeGraw in 2015 broke them into the Billboard Hot 100 for the first time and “Darling” and “Bridges Burn” from Forever on Your Side both broke into the Top 20 Hot Christian Songs earlier in the summer.
