With one Grammy, Five Academy of Country Music Awards, and six Country Music Association Awards, Lee Ann Womack, is coming to the Walker Theatre in Chattanooga, Tennessee this Saturday, October 6th!
Womack, whose 2017 album THE LONELY, THE LONESOME, & THE GONE, combines country, blues, soul, and gospel for a sound that rings true to her Texas roots.
Praised for a voice with “startling precision matched only by her passion, a combination that lends even the slightest quaver in her voice an emotional resonance that would be lost on lesser talents,” (NPR, 2017) Womack’s sound is a gift not made for the sounds of today’s country radio. Instead, it rings truer to the sounds of the 60s and 70s country.
Over twenty years into her career, Womack has produced one of her strongest albums yet.
Womack is most famous for her Grammy winning single “I Hope You Dance” released in 2000, which topped No. 14 on Billboard Top 100 and No. 1 on the Top Country Chart. However, the pop-country hit was a departure from her traditional country sound that fans expect of Womack now.
