First up, hailing a cab in your city is about to get a lot easier and a whole lot more fun, because Moon Taxi is on its way! The indie-rock band from Nashville is coming off of its summer festival circuit and taking things South side this February with a double header at The Mill & Mine: Friday, February 24 and Saturday, February 25! Next up, trailblazing alt-rockers Jimmy Eat World rock the stage on Monday, March 6! Since 1999’s Clarity, an album that has since emerged as a landmark of the emo genre, the quartet have been steadily cementing their place in the alt-rock world with their power pop that targets the heart as well as the head. Tickets go on sale this Thursday, but you can score yours first with our exclusive presale! Next up, Local Natives bring their dramatic and eclectic brand of indie rock from their home base in LA to the halls of Knoxville on Thursday, May 18. Utilizing lots of vocal harmonies and drifting, dreamlike melodies, Local Natives have an intricate sound based around the delicate interconnectedness of all of their parts. Their well-anticipated third album, Sunlit Youth, arrived in the summer of 2016 and was the perfect soundtrack to our summer. What’s up next? Only time will tell. Finally, do you ever listen to an amazing, albeit experimental band and think there is no way they can pull this off live? Animal Collective is like that, except they pull it off, and with flying colors. With extensively creative sets and lights to boot, Animal Collective’s sights and sounds make a night you do not want to miss. With highly celebrated songs like “My Girls,” “FloriDada,” and “Purple Bottle,” this is the perfect band to kick off the summer and have you feeling those hot weather vibes.
