Sons of Louisville My Morning Jacket rock the Mast Stage at Forecastle 2015.

Forecastle Festival

Forecastle is an annual festival gathering of equal parts Music, Arts, and Activism®. It’s a celebration of sights, sounds, and sustainability that Rolling Stone called “one of the coolest festivals in America.”

Forecastle, which began as a small community gathering in 2002 in one of Frederick Law Olmstead’s famed Louisville parks, has grown into an internationally recognized festival at Louisville’s Waterfront Park, attracting over 75,000 attendees annually. Previous Forecastle musical guests include Outkast, Jack White, The Black Keys, The Avett Brothers, Beck, Alabama Shakes, My Morning Jacket, The Flaming Lips, Widespread Panic, Robert Plant, Pretty Lights, The String Cheese Incident, and many more. Forecastle has also featured influential speakers such as Robert F. Kennedy Jr. (Riverkeepers), Rob Caughlan (Surfrider Foundation) and Christopher Childs (Greenpeace International).

The press has celebrated Forecastle by naming it “rock’n’roll paradise” (American Songwriter), one of the “top 101 things to do in America” (Spin Magazine), “the cream of the crop” (Discovery Channel), and “one of the best festivals not just in the South but in the country” (Southern Living).

Forecastle also plays host to the Bourbon Lodge, championing Kentucky’s drink of choice: bourbon. With a number of brands featuring dozens of unique selections, the Lodge allows Forecastle fans a taste of Kentucky alongside carefully curated food options and programming, introducing attendees to high profile bourbon experts and brand ambassadors.
